Under the framework of the EUIPO’s European Cooperation Projects, a memorandum of understanding was signed on 2 November 2022 between the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria (BPO) and the Municipality of Targovishte. Through this memorandum, the city of Targovishte, in Bulgaria, was certified as an official ‘Authenticity’.
Targovishte is a city in Bulgaria, the administrative and economic capital of Targovishte Province. The city is a cultural centre and in 2000, ruins of an Ancient Roman town called Missionis (Мисионис) were unearthed nearby.
Furthermore Targovishte is home to one of the largest glass factories in Europe and one of Bulgaria's largest wine production factories is located in the city.
As a certified Authenticity, a series of IP-related awareness-raising activities took place locally during 2023 and 2024 in Targovishte.
