Under the framework of the EUIPO’s European Cooperation Projects, a memorandum of understanding was signed on 18 November 2020 between the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria (BPO) and the Municipality of Sofia, in cooperation with different stakeholders. Through this memorandum, the city of Sofia, capital of Bulgaria, was certified as an official ‘Authenticity’.
Sofia is the capital and the largest city in Bulgaria. It is also the country’s main administrative, cultural and educational centre. A sixth of Bulgaria’s industrial production is concentrated in Sofia.
As a certified Authenticity, a series of IP-related awareness-raising activities are planned to take place locally over the next two years in Sofia.
