Cities are ready to be authentic:
are you ready to be original?

The IP is a right and as such it needs to be protected with the help of all European Cities
that want to be promoter of this initiative. If, as they said, “unity is strength”,
to be connected in a “virtuous” single network is a good solution to contrast the illegal
market that it ruins the economy, industries and consumers every day.

Authenticity

AUTHENTICITY was born with the goal to create a network with the european cities that resolve to engage in the awarness of right of intellectual property (IPR).
But how to succeed in this goal?

AUTHENTICITY bases its strength on a double view. On one side it looks to problems touched by an European and community point of view, also thanks to EUIPO
(European Intellectual Property Office)
support; on the other side with a more territorial print, that helps promotional and awareness campaigns to center in a capillary way in the representative context.

The yougner generation

We will be in all types of schools to communicate with students and to be known what types of IPR there are, their importance on the current economy and, most importantly, on the future economy, where they will be protagonists.

We want to engage in a path that aims to create something, with different point of views and information that will be brought, to increase the awareness that, in an economy pointed more and more to “create something”, it’s important to act in regard of IP.

Professionals

We aim to create a reservoir of knowledge which will help to extend different agents’ know-how who were hit by illegal market, so we can counteract more effectively this phenomenon.

Population

We want to interact with citizens and business operators planning local events which will help to spread the knowledge about IPR.

Project

Meetings with security force

AUTHENTICITY also offers to collaborate with security force to compare the most effective and efficient actions for the environment, so we can build an intelligence which, combining security force’s resources, can give promising results in the fight against counterfeiting.

Project

Workshops in schools

AUTHENTICITY talks with students from different classes about counterfeiting, by focusing the attention on the consequences not only on brands, but on every section of society in its entirety.

Through the projection of footages and the involvement of students in a two-way comparison about different topics on IP, this project aims to raise awareness and to create an IP and legal culture. The students’ perceptions, consciousness and interest towards these themes are tested and tracked through a questionnaire, before and after the meeting. This’ll permit to verify the student’s knowledge about illegal and IP, strengthening the bases to the creation of actions ad hoc for tomorrow’s consumer.

Intellectual Property

In 2015 the EUIPO through the European Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights, produced the Intellectual property rights and firm performance in Europe report, which indicated that 9 % of European small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) register IP Rights (IPRs).

Subsequently, the Office commissioned an external contractor, GfK, to conduct a study called IP SME Scoreboard to provide more insights and evidence as to why SMEs do or do not register IPRs, what problems those who register encounter and how they think such problems could be solved in the most efficient manner.
